The Genetic Map V
As noted earlier, it is possible to double-click on any marker shown on the genetic map to see additional information about it. In the figure to the right we have double-clicked on tt4. A text window appears, presenting new information. The window's title indicates that tt4 is a member of the Locus class.
The tt4 text window is exactly like the other text windows we have already discussed. Much of what is visible can be double-clicked to open additional windows. Many of the new windows would themselves be text windows, but in two instances this would not be true. Clicking on chs after the Clone tag will open a window showing the physical map, while clicking on the text following the Sequence tag will open a sequence window. Naturally, this is not the only route to physical maps and sequences. Both types of information can be located from many different starting points.

In the following pages we will examine physical maps and sequence windows in more detail. Double-clicking on the "chs" in the line "Molecular_information Clone chs" will generate the window shown on the next page.
