When dumping if there is an error on an object the dump will continue. After the dump has finished if the user is using a graphical version of Acedb then he/she will be requested for a file for the error messages to be printed to. Also the errors are written to log.wrm. Error messages have the format: ClassName Name Error When dumping the user can now specify a directory to dump too. In the graphical versions you will be requested for a directory to dump too and in non graphical versions there is an optional directory parameter.
You can now read any preference file you like by clicking on load from the preferences menu. The way preferences are read in/used now alters in the fact that the default set (code dependant) is used to set the initial setting for the preferences. Then the preferences file is read to set these preferences. So old/new preferences that are not recognised by the code, will not be displayed. They will however still be saved in case you then use another version of the code.
Aswell as various spacing bugs being fixed and frame problems with features/homols, there is a new layout for the column control. If you click on "columns" once then the list of available columns is displayed at the bottom of the screen as a series of buttons. By clicking on the buttons the column is turned on/off. At present the displayed column buttons have a white background and the non-displayed a grey background.
a new menu toggle has been added to turn off/on the display of loci.
A new toggle has been added to Interval_SRK ( which may be better known as Contigs) from the Column Types which turns on/off the display of the interval boxes.
Several new options have been added: these are i) map options -whole -hideHeader // map map [-view view] [-coords x1 x2] [-hideheader] [-whole] : does not write - use gif after iii) directory for dumping. Dump [-s] [-T] [directory] : dump database, -s splits by class, -T gives timestamps iv) update // update [-all] : add one official update, or all v) makemaps // makemaps [-gmap] [-pmap] [-cmap] [-alpha] [-all] : makes cached maps and sorted class keysets
