Changes in this release in respect to RELEASE-980930 are as follows :

1. fixed annoying random bug that crashes xace when selecting genefinder in fmap - (by fw)

2. added support to use netscape as the helpbrowser - (by fw)
   The menu option 'open current in browser' dispatches the current help file to an existing netscape process or laucnhes a new netscape session.
   A middle button click on a link in the built-in browser shows the linked document in netscape as well.

3. fixed crash dumping gff files - (by rd)

4. fmap improvement - better handling of genes on the reverse strand - (by mieg)

5. changes to gmap display of a sequence - (? by mieg)

6. temporary solution for the bug that crashes xace under LINUX when the print window is called up - (by fw)

7. winace can now deal with file starting with n (eg. C:\acedb\newfile.ace) - (by rbsk)

8. fixed a bug in the parsing of peptides, that sometimes left references to empty objects around - (by rd)

9. change of error-messages to include system error codes, more informative warnings, or avoid crashes where possible - (by edgrif, fw)

10. more logical comparison of date/time values in AQL - (by mieg, michel)

11. Intenal code restructuring : The graphics library - (by edgrif)

    • All graphical code now compiles with -lgraph for all the graphical functions. Although still not comletely versatile and separate from it's Acedb origins, whatever code (xace or image or contigc) can now be compiled with the same library.

    • All ACEDB specifics have been resolved through registered call back functions

    • Tidied up lots of code (functions prototypes, logical layering, compiler warnings)
